This short video promo captures some of the amazing experiences India and Siena had this June on tour with the Orange County Mormon Chorale Organization. Grandpa Kindrick plays in the trumpet section and we had a wonderful week in Salt Lake with him. They performed in the Salt Lake Tabernacle and Abravanel Hall, as well as recorded the "Messiah in America" Oratorio in Abravenel Hall. It was an incredible once in a lifetime experience.



On a side note, auditions for the adult choir and symphony will be held this following week. The Children's choirs ages 4-18 meet weekly at the Newport Beach Stake Center. Registration is open now. No auditions required. This has been such a unique and inspiring experience for my girls to be part of such a professional and talented organization. I can't over state how grateful I am that we have been able to be part of this.

The truth is...I am sick of knowing that my blog hasn't been updated in almost a year. I bet that means that ya'll are even more annoyed than I am. So what is new in our life? Absolutely nothing.

My LCD screen on my camera broke on Thunder Mountain last spring. I still have not replaced it. So my photos are all limited to the flashless wonders that come off my phone--ie, non-existent. I have made a commitment to buy a new camera with some of our tax return. I have it all picked out: drop-proof, scratch-proof, water-proof, kid-proof....you get the idea.

Well, just in case there is anyone out there who reads my blog (I can't imagine who could possibly be bothered, in light of the frequency of posting), but doesn't follow my ever-posting sisters' blogs, I am the proud new aunt to 4 of the cutest little babies known to man. Heather had Holland in November, Sawyer was born to Ashley right before Christmas, Brooklyn arrived to Sadie in late January, and Brittany delivered baby Ivory last week. It's a sea of squishy, even though I have had a cold and been too contagious to hold any of the except Holly. Can you imagine? So many newborns, and not getting to hold them?

Pharoah Song performed by Craig Moffat

India was recently in the Orange Stake production of Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat. The this is a small section of the show that Brother Moffat uploaded. India is one of Pharoah's dancers on the floor in front of the stage. She is the one closest to the Pharoah on the right, in the shadows, with a sparkly head piece. You can see her for most of this clip. Don't worry, she is on the actual stage for the rest of the number.

Fire Academy

This Tuesday was Jeremy's first day at the El Camino Fire Academy. Just when I thought he couldn't fit anymore blue shirts and navy pants in the closet. . . .
here he is boasting ANOTHER blue uniform shirt and a brand new military-shaved haircut. He is in the 16 week program.

Believe it or not, he is no where near the oldest guy in the class. There are several guys his age in his class, as well.
Based on the smile, I think he is on the right career path.

The End of an Era

Honestly, this picture makes me cry. I'm not kidding. Today I traded in my 10 1/2 year old, good ol' reliable double stroller--and even sadder--and for the first time in 10 years--I don't need it anymore. This baby has been on countless trips to Disneyland, off-roading in mountains, on the beach, multiple libraries across two states, you name it. While it is technically a double, in a pinch, I have crammed two kids in the back seat. I have been in denial for several months that this thing was on it's way out, even though something on it breaks off everytime I take it out. It's fate was sealed when in the tram to the Disneyland parking lot, I realized that despite a recent hose down, it was so dingy and filthy I couldn't make eye contact with the gal next to me. I traded it in at Babies R Us for a coupon for 25% the stroller of my choice.

. . .which after was the Graco LiteRider. Not particularly snazzy, or trendy, but boasting the lightest frame and the biggest storage basket available. Let's face it. The stroller's job is to carry all the "stuff" so I don't have to--the baby is optional.

Note the cool organizer I got hanging off the back.

PS. Sorry to spend so much time on a stupid stroller, but frankly, this is was a big deal.

Internation Folk Music Center

This was a goup Fieldtrip to Folk Music Center, in Claremont. The Kindrick Family has been coming here since I was a little kid. We had a wonderful presentation demonstrating instruments from around the world. Afterwords we met at Memorial Park, where Autumn Hatch had prepared a fun project creating collage illustrations like those of Eric Carsle. (Think Brown Bear, Brown Bear).
